THANK YOU to everyone that participated and helped contribute to spirit week!! We had a blast!!

We are now learning the difference between a long vowel sound and a short vowel sound.  We have two little saying that help us distinguish the difference.  Please try to practice these at home. 
1~ When there's one vowel in a word it usually says its short sound. 
 (we mark those words with a "smiley" above the vowel.) 

2~ When there's two vowels in a word the first one says its name and the second one is silent.
(we mark the first vowel with a straight line above it and a slash \ through the second vowel)
